League of Legends worlds play-in schedule revealed

The League of Legends World Championship begins Sept. 23, and the worlds play-in schedule was released Friday.

The newly added play-in stage will last until Sept. 28. The group stage of the play-in will last until Sept. 26, with six games being played each day. The top two teams of the four play-in groups will then move onto the knockout stages held on Sept. 27 and 28, as the final four teams will advance to the worlds group stage.

The groups have been drawn, and the matches are only a week away. One of the notable matches in groups will be Team WE playing Gambit, a matchup between two teams with deep roots in the game that might make some of the earliest League of Legends fans nostalgic. The entire schedule for the play-in stage groups is listed below (all times Eastern):


1:30 AM – Team WE vs. Lyon Gaming

2:30 AM – Cloud9 vs. oNe Esports

3:30 AM – Gambit vs. Lyon Gaming

4:30 AM – Dire Wolves vs. Cloud9

5:30 AM – Gabmit vs. Team WE

6:30 AM – Dire Wolves vs. oNe Esports


1:00 AM – oNe Esports vs. Cloud9

2:00 AM – Lyon Gaming vs. Team WE

3:00 AM – Cloud9 vs. Dire Wolves

4:00 AM – Lyon Gaming vs. Gambit

5:00 AM – oNe Esports vs. Dire Wolves

6:00 AM – Team WE vs. Gabmit


1:00 AM – Young Generation vs. Kaos Latin Gamers

2:00 AM – Rampage vs. Hong Kong Attitude
