Inven user pledges to clean trash at the Han River if TSM makes it to the quarterfinals of worlds

An Inven user pledged to clean a river in South Korea if TSM makes the worlds quarterfinals
An Inven user will clean the Han River if TSM makes the quarterfinals of the League of Legends World Championship.

A user on Inven’s League of Legends forum pledged to clean trash around South Korea’s Han River if Team SoloMid (TSM) reaches the quarterfinals of the League of Legends World Championship.

The post is titled “I will make a pledge in hoping this year’s worlds is a success,” and the user wrote that when TSM advances to the quarterfinals, the user will announce they will do good on their promise a day in advance of the match at a random location around the river. The user also promised to buy a free meal for one Inven browser who recognizes the user while cleaning trash.

The pledge doesn’t appear to be some kind joke, either. The user said they fully anticipate TSM to make it to the quarterfinals, and that they have prepared themselves for the outcome. The post was quickly upvoted to the top of the forum, with some saying they would also join the pledge, while others applauding the original poster’s dedication.

To the user’s credit, TSM has a good a shot this year as in any previous year to advance past the group stage. TSM managed to avoid any Korean or Chinese teams by drawing into Group D, which includes Flash Wolves from LMS and Misfits from Europe. With two teams of the same region not being able to be in the same group, Cloud9 won’t be able to play spoiler in the event it makes it out of the play-in stage, and the only play-in team that seems to be a real threat to TSM’s group is China’s Team WE. Even then, if Team WE made it to the group stage, it would be a 50/50 chance of being placed into TSM’s group.

The worlds group stage begins Oct. 5, comprised of four groups of four teams each. Groups will be played in a double round robin with the top two teams of each group advancing to the knockout stage.
