Two-time OGN APEX champion Lunatic-Hai suffers massive upset, misses semifinals of Season 4

LUnatic-Hai suffered a massive upset in OGN APEX Season 4

Lunatic-Hai, the two-time defending champion of OGN Overwatch APEX, suffered an upset Friday at the hands of GC Busan and has been eliminated from Season 4.

In the final match in the second group stage, GC Busan and Lunatic-Hai were playing for the last spot in the semifinals from their group, as RunAway had already qualified for the semifinals from the same group.

Although the result was a sweep, the actual games were close. Lunatic-Hai flex player Moon “Gido” Gi-do was a key player his team as Tracer, as he cut down members of GC Busan whenever the team was in need of some breathing room. GC Busan’s own Tracer, Park “Profit” Joon-yeong, was able to match Gido with intelligent hit-and-runs combined with flanks and incredibly accurate Pulse Bombs on the healers of Lunatic-Hai.

As the defending champion, Lunatic-Hai was the favorite to go far in the tournament, especially compared to GC Busan, a team that was added to Season 4 of APEX from the Challenger league. GC Busan will play Cloud9 KongDoo on Tuesday in the semifinals for a chance to advance to the finals. RunAway will play the Nc Foxes in the other semifinal.
