Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek is no longer a part of the Mysterious Monkeys and will become a free agent, the player announced Wednesday via Twitter.

Mysterious Monkeys struggled in the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS), finishing in last place of Group B with a record of 2-11. The team was then relegated from the EU LCS after losing to Schalke 04 3-2 and Ninjas in Pyjamas 3-0 during the spring promotional tournament.

Kikis joined the team with Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider in June after both played for Fnatic Academy in the spring split of the European Challenger Series. They were part of the team that qualified for the European LCS, only to be replaced when Ninjas in Pyjamas purchased the slot and fielded a different roster. Kikis was also part of G2 Esports last year and won an EU LCS championship in the 2016 spring split before being benched and eventually moving onto Fnatic. He then played for Fnatic Academy this spring.

With the departure of Kikis and Amazing the remaining players for Mysterious Monkeys are Sofyan “CozQ” Rechchad, Florent “Yuuki60” Soler, Han “Dreams” Min-kook, Christian “Phones” Sieg, Lukas “Inition” Otter, and Sander “Kitty” Everink.

According to Riot Games’ global contract database, the contracts for the entire Mysterious Monkeys team end Nov. 20.
