Cloud9’s Overwatch League team reportedly merges Kongdoo and GC Busan rosters

Cloud9 acquired the roster of GC Busan, the OGN APEX Season 4 champions, and free agents Kim “Fury” Jun-Ho and Kim “NUS” Jong-Seok and now has 12 players on its Overwatch League roster, according to a report Tuesday from ESPN.

The changes stem from disagreements between Cloud9 and members of the Kongdoo Panthera team it initially signed, according to the report. Kang “Void” Jun-woo reportedly missed practice multiple times and made relocation demands with which Cloud9 would not comply. An “wakawaka” Jee-ho was uninterested in joining Cloud9, which operates the London franchise of Overwatch League, and wanted to instead join the Seoul franchise under KSV Esports.

Kongdoo released a statement Tuesday to say its contracts with Kim “birdring” Ji-hyuk, Baek “Fissure” Chan-hyung, Kim “Rascal” Dong-jun and Seung “Bdosin” Choi-tae have ended, and they will join Cloud9. Kongdoo confirmed wakawaka and Void would not join Cloud9 and said the team’s remaining player, Lee “curious” Yeong-min, will move toward a career in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS.

Cloud9’s reported full roster would consist of Park “Profit” Joon-Yeong, Lee “Hooreg” Dong-Eun, Hong “Gesture” Jae-Hee, Jo “HaGoPeun” Hyeon-Woo, Sung “WOOHYAL” Seung-Hyun, and Jung “Closer” Won-Sik from GC Busan, as well as Fury, NUS, birdring, Fissure, Rascal, and Bdosin.
